3 GWs left. We all know what is up and many of us are looking forward to end this anomaly season, just to start a new in a few months time. Forget that, many of us will play a few weeks after in the Euros Fantasy Football game. It's just a never ending cycle.
Right off the bat, I've decided to not hold back. The game is about fun at the end of the day and there is nothing fun about not having players to look forward to playing because you can't field 11 men for the BGW. I took a -12 point hit which completely freshened up this team. Some of the classic frauds are in here but we also have new ones which have a nice lead into the final few games.
I'm going to introduce you to the biggest punt I've gambled on. In fact I've doubled down on him and gave him the captain's armband. Mahrez enters the team with a shocking 3% ownership. Mahrez is undoubtedly the attacking option from Man City. He will likely have the minutes and his form has been sensational lately. The only problem is the rotation risk. He will likely miss out on 1 league game in the next 3 leagues games to not risk injuries for the Champions League Final, but the ceiling is very high for him, especially if he plays against Newcastle. Torres and Bernardo Silva are his competition. Torres has been playing fine in the league and Bilva sill likely have to fill in for the injured KDB in the midfield. I think there is a <5% chance of Mahrez not starting against Newcastle - I'll take those odds personally.
I've done it again. I've tripled up on Spurs for no real reason. Okay, that is a lie, there is a pretty obvious reason. They are playing Wolves which have been rinsed by a Burnley side that put 4 past them the other week. Spurs may not be good right now but they are miles better than Wolves. Kane is back in the team to accompany Son in the attack. Hopefully their partnership from earlier on in the season returns in this match. Reguilon joins them too but I don't expect anything from him in all honesty. Not getting negative points would be a good start. His performance against Leeds should not even warrant him a start in this game if I'm honest.
I've also tripled up on Everton. I know, I know - this is super questionable. The only reason I'm doing this is because not only will Everton play Sheffield United this week, but they also get the benefit of also playing Wolves right after that. That is why I decided to get Digne in and double on their defence alongside Pickford. Calvert-Lewin is still there as well although I prefer the defence of Everton to their attack. There is still a chance he comes up with a goal or two during this run up of games.
Sadly that is all for the triple-ups, but there is a new duo in the team. Welcome back Antonio who joins the team back for West Ham's favourable fixtures and their final push for European football. West Ham haven't looked all that good recently but surely if they were ever motivated to push through it would be in these final games against beatable opponents. Lingard has blanked again in the last week which makes me worried slightly. That is why I've doubled down and go Antonio in to keep him company. This could be disastrous.
All of that leaves two players from the starting 11. Let Alexander-Arnold be the firs one. The Liverpool right-back gave quite the performance against Manchester United with Gareth Southgate looking closely from his seat. West Brom have already been relegated and if their performance against Arsenal was anything go with, Liverpool should have a field day out there. I'm hoping TAA could again make up for what I'm missing out on without Salah, Mane or Jota in my team. It worked out alright for now but needs to continue onwards.
And finally we have Struijk playing against Burnley. Will Leeds keep a clean sheet? I'm doubtful because Burnley have actually been scoring more than ever recently. Struijk is only here to fill those numbers.
